Coming to Beaufort in 2022

2022 is just around the corner, and with so many great events returning to the Lowcountry, it is the perfect time to plan your next trip to Beaufort, SC. Follow along as we highlight some of our favorite festivals and local events to look forward to in the New Year.

Beaufort Oyster Festival

In January, Beaufort will welcome back a relatively new event, “Tides to Table,” which celebrates the “Queen of the Sea Islands”, the elegant oyster. With some of the freshest and highly sought-after oysters coming straight out of our local waters, if you haven’t been to Beaufort in a while, this is a great reason to return!

This festive weekend launched just a year ago, and has already been a great success. The Beaufort Oyster Festival is a two day event coinciding with South Carolina Restaurant Week and culminating in a weekend of mini-festival events throughout Beaufort. Come out and learn about the history and process of oyster gathering and try some incredible dishes cooked by celebrated chefs in our region.  Some of our favorite local participating restaurants this year are Hearth, Old Bull Tavern, Gilligans, Breakwater, Fat Patties, Plums, Saltus River Grill, Mr. Seafood, Q on Bay, Ribault Social Club, Lady’s Island Dockside, Fish Camp on 11th, and Marker 244. The festival weekend will be January 21-22, 2022.

Beaufort International Film Festival

Mark your calendars for the return of the Beaufort International Film Festival, one of our favorite events all year! Presented by the Beaufort Film Society, the festival boasts six fun-filled days of movie watching and stargazing, all with the beautiful backdrop of the marshes of the Carolina Sea Islands. Come experience what has been called by many as the “best little film festival in the southeast.” As of May 2021, the festival was ranked by filmmakers as one of the TOP 100 Best Reviewed Film Festivals by FilmFreeway.

The 16th annual Beaufort International Film Festival will run from February 22-27, 2022, with The Opening Ceremony taking place on Tuesday, February 22nd at 6:00 pm at The Tabby Place. All film screenings will be held at the University of South Carolina Beaufort, Center for the Arts in downtown Beaufort, just a short distance from our historical bed and breakfast!

We are pleased to offer special packages for film festival attendees. Choose the Film Fan Package to stay for two or more nights at the Cuthbert House Inn during the Beaufort International Film Festival and receive a VIP pass to The Directors’ Reception, all Film Festival movie screenings and the award ceremony.

Traditionally, the Cuthbert House Inn is host to directors, producers and/or actors. Enjoy conversing with these film professionals at our evening social or during breakfast in the conservatory.

RBC Heritage

Golf fans from all over the world will flock to the Hilton Head area the week of April 11-17, 2022. The RBC Heritage is South Carolina’s only PGA golf tournament. The 54th RBC HERITAGE presented by Boeing will take place at the Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, SC. Make plans now to “Get Your Plaid On!”

We have so much to look forward to in 2022, and we would love to host you at the Cuthbert House Inn during your stay in Beaufort!
