Day 1: Check-In and Explore Beaufort, South Carolina

1-Arrive in the afternoon and check-in at our home located within Beaufort’s historic district.

2-Grab a quick lunch at one of the nearby restaurants. We recommend making the 5-minute walk from the Cuthbert House Inn to visit Plums Restaurant. This local treasure that has been in business since 1986 serves outstanding, authentic cuisine that stays true to the area.

3-While you’re already in the area, explore one of the many things to do in downtown Beaufort. View the historic John Mark Verdier House that sits across the street from the restaurant, and as you walk down Bay Street, window shop at unique boutiques.

4-Then, make your way to Newcastle Street to marvel at the architecture of The Parish Church of St. Helena. All you have to do is take a quick 7-minute walk from the John Mark Verdier House to visit this site!

5-Walk 4-minutes from the church and arrive back at Cuthbert House Inn. If you’re looking for one more excursion to top off your day, hop in your car and enjoy a relaxing dinner and movie at the Highway 21 Drive-In. Even in the expansive city of Beaufort, you can still find small-town fun!

Day 2: Sunshine in Savannah

1-When you wake up a Cuthbert House Inn, feast on a complimentary breakfast to fuel up for your day of exploration.

2-Jump in your car and take a 1-hour drive to Savannah, Georgia.

The River Street Inn pub and hotel on the banks of the river in Savannah GA

3-Begin your outing at the famous Telfair Museum, which happens to be the oldest public art museum in the whole Southeast. Browse through the art gallery inside to see contemporary rotating exhibitions as well as to learn more about Savannah’s rich history.

4-By now, you’re sure to be ready for lunch. Walk for 7-minutes to arrive at Vic’s on the River for delicious, refined comfort food with a water view.

5-After your meal, you’ll find yourself directly on River Street. This is the perfect place to take a stroll along the glassy waters. Visit Rousakis Riverfront Plaza, located just across the street from the restaurant,  for a breathtaking panoramic view. Then, continue meandering down the bustling River Street to gaze at historic homes and architecture, view local shops, and wave as the trolly passes!

6-Return to Cuthbert House Inn to complete the second day of your weekend getaway.

Day 3: An Outing in Charleston, South Carolina

1-Once again, you’ll find a complimentary homemade breakfast when you wake for your third day of exploration.

2-Take the one and a half hour drive to Charleston, South Carolina and uncover the best things to do on your day trip from Beaufort!

3-Start your day examining the intricate crafts, jewelry, sweetgrass weavings, and souvenirs at the Historic Charleston City Market on Market Street. This event is held daily and attracts visitors from all over!

Charleston, South Carolina, USA at Waterfront Park.

4-Once you’re done perusing, walk only a couple more minutes to Slightly North of Broad. This local’s favorite puts an elegant twist on the most beloved southern dishes.

5-Just steps away sits the gorgeous Waterfront Park. Relax on the shaded boardwalk, and take in the stunning views of the Charleston Harbor. This park also holds the Famous Pineapple Fountain that has become an icon of downtown Charleston!

6-No visit to the Holy City is complete without taking a stroll down Rainbow Row. Take the 3-minute walk to East Bay Street to view the series of 13, colorful Georgian row houses that capture the romantic feel of the beloved city.

7-As always, our own historic home awaits your return!
