Our Favorite Places for Beaufort, SC, Fireworks Displays

It’s just not the 4th of July without some incredible fireworks displays! Here are our favorite ways to celebrate America’s birthday in Beaufort.

1. 4th of July Celebration and Fireworks at The Sands

Just a few minutes away from our Inn is The Sands, one of the best public beaches around. Every year, the annual 4th of July Celebration and Fireworks is held at The Sands! Get there early for food, live music, bounce houses for the kids, and more. The fireworks show starts at 9:00 p.m. A few things to know before you go – there are no pets or coolers allowed and it is highly recommended that you bring along some bug spray. This show is one of the favorite traditions of Beaufort! A spot on The Sands is also a perfect place to see the firework show done by Parris Island, as well.

2. Salute from the Shore

Heading into their 9th annual event, Salute from the Shore is one of our favorite ways to honor our veterans and also celebrate all that is America! Every year, thousands of people decked out in red, white, and blue attire, along with giant flags and more, gather on the shores of South Carolina. High above the crowds, you can see vintage and modern military aircraft fly overhead! It’s an incredible sight and such a unique way to celebrate July 4th. While not a fireworks display, Salute from the Shore is a 4th of July tradition that you won’t want to miss.

3. Independence Day at Parris Island

Not only is Parris Island home to about 16,000 Marines throughout the year as they complete their boot camp, it’s also home to a truly fantastic July 4th celebration. Starting at 5:00 p.m., Independence Day at Parris Island opens its gates to the public. This free event will have a kids’ fun zone, a live band performance, and much more before the amazing fireworks display. Food, beverages, and souvenirs will be available for purchase.

Note: No outside food or drinks are allowed inside. Also be sure to have your ID ready to enter the Marine base.
