Beaufort International Film Festival

The Beaufort International Film Festival takes place in historic downtown Beaufort and welcomes all film lovers. Filmmakers from around the world join together to celebrate their passion for film, introduce their work, and compete for awards. Pat Conroy Literary Center March Forth on March Fourth

The Pat Conroy Literary Center hosts its annual March Forth on March Fourth day of learning. The event takes place at the Frissell Community House on St. Helena Island and commemorates the anniversary of Pat Conroy’s death. In the heart of Conroy’s beloved Lowcountry, the community joins together for a day-long celebration of nature, literature, poetry, and fellowship. A Taste of Beaufort

For live music, art displays, and a taste of the area’s finest cuisine, don’t miss A Taste of Beaufort. This music, arts, and seafood festival takes place at the Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park in downtown Beaufort. Enjoy plenty of food and beverages, events, and activities, as well as the 5k Crab Crawl!

Beaufort Water Festival

One of the area’s biggest events is the annual Beaufort Water Festival. The 10-day festival includes a range of fascinating sports tournaments, nightly entertainment, arts and crafts, fireworks, concerts, talent shows, and more. Participate in a fishing tournament, watch a live Riverdance show, or sit back and enjoy a Lowcountry supper at this year’s Beaufort Water Festival.

Beaufort Shrimp Festival

Sample the area’s freshest seafood at the downtown Beaufort Shrimp Festival. Head to the Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park to taste the best shrimp dishes from local restaurants, vote for your favorite, participate in a shrimp heading competition, and more! Kids enjoy the numerous arts and crafts, 5k bridge walk/run, and exciting shrimp peeling competition. This lively festival includes fun attractions for the whole family.

Light Up the Night Boat Parade

One of Beaufort community’s favorite winter events is the Light Up the Night Boat Parade in December. Celebrate the holiday season with this festive event that involves a magical display of boats decorated with Christmas lights. Decorate your own boat and join the parade or simply sit back with a cup of hot cocoa and enjoy the delightful light display. The Friday before, downtown businesses stay open late so that you can stroll and shop!
There is entertainment by local choirs, dance groups, and clubs. There is even a  Christmas tree lighting with Santa himself!
