How to Make the Most of Your Time at the Beaufort Shrimp Festival 2019!

One of our favorite annual events is the Beaufort Shrimp Festival at the Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park. This year’s event will be held October 2 & 3, 2020. This autumn celebration offers seafood delicacies from local restaurants and provides a fun-filled entertainment experience for all who attend. Whether you want to indulge in the excellently prepared cuisine or explore the quaint arts & crafts tents, you’ll be delighted by the array of activities at this spectacular annual celebration!

A Snapshot of Your Beaufort Shrimp Festival Experience

Before attending the Beaufort Shrimp Festival, here are our recommendations for where to park and what you’ll experience. If you are a guest with us, you are welcome to park in our lot for free and walk the block and a half to the festivities!

Fun for All Ages

Every year during the Beaufort Shrimp Festival, our wonderful community transforms into a lively entertainment space. Stay tuned for many updates on the other acts confirmed to perform at this year’s festivities.

In addition to live entertainment, there will be an awards ceremony during the festival. The prizes are given to the “People’s Choice Award,” “Best Booth,” “Best Shrimp Dish & Silver Cup,” and the results for the Sea Island Rotary’s Shrimp Race!

The Run Forrest Run 5K

On Saturday, October 5, lace up your running shoes for the Run Forrest Run 5K Run/ Walk. The race starts at 8 a.m. at Bay and Newcastle Streets and past several places that were featured in the movie Forrest Gump. The run takes you through historic Beaufort, down tree-covered streets, and across the Woods Memorial Bridge. Before heading to the race, put together the best Forrest Gump costume, and you’ll be in the running for a special prize. If you want to beat the crowds, sign up online before October 3 or in-person at the Chamber of Commerce office!

Who’s Involved in the Celebration?

At the Beaufort, SC, Shrimp Festival in 2020, there are many participating restaurants that will be providing the best seafood dishes in our area. Some local favorites include, Panini’s on the Waterfront, Sea Eagle Market, Q on Bay, and Plums, just to name a few! Each of these delightful eateries will be in the running for the coveted Silver Cup, the top prize for the best shrimp dish chosen by you. After the festival, walk along Bay Street and walk in one of our fine dining establishments. You’ll find a variety of sumptuous small plates, hearty entrees, and decadent desserts for all palates.

What Can I Buy?

On Saturday, there is a showcase of up to 50 vendors at the Arts & Crafts Market. From handmade jewelry to unique artwork, you’re sure to find the perfect memorabilia to commemorate your time in Beaufort. Each of these artists brings something special to the celebration, so walk around and explore the various stands!
