Weather - With the Gulf Stream just off shore, spring comes in early March and our mild winter is confined to mid-December through January. Camellias with their bright pink blooms fill the gardens in January and February. Hot tea by the fire in a warm parlor with picture books and a view of the mist drifting among the moored sail boats have a romantic appeal all their own. September through June are favorite months for golfers at seven local courses.

The Spring and Fall Historic Home and Plantation Tours are spectacular in the Lowcountry. Day-trips for seasonal historic tours in Charleston and Savannah add to your pleasure without the city traffic and re-packing hassle.
